Compensation of Nonprofit
Employees Discussed at the Capitol
On
February 1, 2005 a bill (HF 593) was introduced in the Minnesota
House of Representatives to limit the salary of nonprofit employees
to that of the Governor's. MCN opposes this legislation and
any measure to single out nonprofit organizations with undue restrictions.
Although this bill did not succeed in passing out of the House
Governmental Operations and Veterans Affairs Committee, another
bill has been introduced in the House (HF 961) which would require
certain nonprofits receiving government grants to report the salaries
of their highest paid executives on any fundraising materials.
