Program
Overview
In
the Nonprofit Leadership Institute you will:
- Expand
your network of talented nonprofit leaders in Minnesota
- Hone
and practice your leadership skills to further your organization
and the community you serve.
- Step
back to reflect, think critically about and plan strategically
for an issue or project that is important to your organization.
- Join
a group of over 120 Institute alumni and particpate in ongoing
alumni learning opportunities.
- Get
free admission to MCN's annual Leadership Conference, where you
will network and engage with other nonprofit leaders and thinkers
around current leadership topics.

Tools
you will use in the Nonprofit Leadership Institute:
- Your
Leadership Portfolio includes a This I Believe
statement, a leadership project identified in your application,
peer feedback and a journal documenting your insights from each
session.
- Action
Reflection Circles are formed at the opening retreat.
You and your Action Reflection Circle will meet each day of the
Institute. These small groups provide support as you delve deeper
into leadership issues.
- Your
Personal Leadership Assessments allow you to
learn how the outcomes of your Myers-Briggs Type Inventory and
Emotional Intelligence shape how you lead.
- An
online community provides a forum for ongoing
idea exchange between you and other participants.
- The
Institute's group of diverse leaders at different
stages in their leadership career allows for frank discussion
and sharing of mutual interests, resulting in the emergence of
new views and ideas.
“The
Institute has helped me to embrace the
organization's and my own power in the community.”

Lueck, Executive Director, Bridges of Hope
