Excellence
in Nonprofit Web sites
The way nonprofits
communicate with their constituents is constantly evolving. From
emailed news alerts to MySpace pages, from online donations to blogs,
from interactive maps to shared content-creation through Wikis,
connections between nonprofits and communites are rapidly changing.
To highlight
excellence online, the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits will recognize
some of the best Minnesota-based nonprofit Web sites during our
first annual Dot.Org Awards, to be presented at this year’s
Technology and Communications Conference on April 24, 2007.
Winners will
be selected by a reviewing and will be based on the following principles
that nonprofit Web sites are:
• information-generous,
• interactive and participatory,
• illustrating the organization’s mission,
• consistent with the organization’s brand,
• innovative yet functional,
• accessible, and
• encouraging of connections and networks.
MCN is currently seeking nominations for the Dot.Org Awards from
now until Friday, March 2, 2007. Nominations will be accepted from
nonprofit staff, volunteers, clients, consultants and the general
public.
