Dakota County:PREPARE!

Your nonprofit is important to the life of Dakota County—but what would happen in the event of a disaster? Are you prepared for a crisis arising from disease, infrastructure failure, or other emergencies? The Dakota County Social Leader Action Network (SLAN) and the Dakota County Public Health Department invite you to partner with us by participating in a training series to create or improve your organization’s disaster plan and to collaboratively examine and measure our ability to meet the needs of Dakota County residents in an emergency.

Disaster preparedness planning is a top priority. As a nonprofit or faith-based organization in Dakota County, you play a vital role in the continuity of services during many types of disasters. In just the past few months here in Minnesota, we’ve seen firsthand the importance of a strong community network for helping residents and organizations persevere after natural disasters or infrastructure collapse. We strongly encourage you to join us in leading the rest of the state through this innovative training series.

Dates: October 26 and December 6, 2007
February 13, April 9, 2008, May 21, 2008

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

Location: Dakota Lodge at Thompson County Park
1200 Stassen Lane
West St Paul MN 55118

Cost: $50 for all five trainings per Organization (you can send a team to attend the trainings)
Includes all materials, light food and beverages and technical assistance
